CONSTRUCTIONS
October 2012
Damien Minton Annex Space, Sydney
Created in collaboration with Donna Sgro and Olivier Solente

CONSTRUCTIONS was an exhibition of hybrid material forms conceived as static mutations between object, textiles and space. It included fashion and textile objects, together with sculptural forms and image projection.

Beginning with the idea of continual transformation, and drawing from studies of nature, the artists employed an iterative process that involved both digital and analogue technologies.

The resulting works challenged traditional understandings of fashion practice, such as what a garment is and how it relates to the body.

CONSTRUCTIONS aimed to situate fashion practice within the context of a wider field of art, design and architecture.
